My love of art began in preschool when my mother signed me up for classes at the Tampa Museum of Art. Although I have had other careers, that love of art has never faded and I continued to develop my artwork via formal training and experimentation.

While my work draws heavily from nature, it’s often a blend of organic and the abstract, intricate, biomorphic forms and lyrical mark-making blur the line between the familiar and the unknown, creating spaces where fluidity and movement dominate. It’s through this fusion of shapes and colors that I seek to transform the ordinary into something profound—something worth contemplating.

I begin my process by drawing lyrical lines, using my whole body to create a dynamic foundation for the work. I begin my process by drawing lyrical lines, using my whole body to create a dynamic foundation for the work. These lines form a canvas of movement and energy, from which shapes emerge and guide the development of the composition. This initial mark-making is done with acrylic paint, graphite, pastel, or a combination of these materials, depending on the prominence I want the lines to have. I then build upon this framework with acrylic paint, bringing out shapes and structure while allowing the work to evolve organically. Modifications occur intuitively, as I respond to the piece, shaping a visual language that invites the viewer into a moment of reflection and connection.
